Get your instruction permit
At 15 or older, apply with proof of identity, date of birth, and residence address, plus your Social Security number. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian signs the application and certifies that you're in school. You'll pass a vision test and a 35-question knowledge test, where you need 28 correct. You can take the knowledge test online or at a DMV office.
Practice with a qualified supervisor
Log 100 hours of supervised driving, or 50 hours plus an ODOT-approved traffic safety education course. Your supervisor must be at least 21 and have held a license for at least three years. If you're under 18, hold your permit for at least six months.
Pass the drive test
Book a drive test appointment through DMV2U or by phone, or use a certified third-party tester. Bring a registered, insured passenger vehicle with working signals, brake lights, horn, seat belts, and mirrors. DMV may waive the drive test if you finished an ODOT-approved driver education course in the past two years.
Get your license
At 16 or older, once you've met the permit, practice, and testing requirements, you can get your Class C driver license. It lets you drive passenger cars, vans, and pickups up to 26,000 pounds.
