The short version
You don't need an account to use the site, and we don't ask for your name or email address to take a practice test. We don't sell personal data.
What stays in your browser
Your answers and progress on each practice test are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They aren't sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data, or choosing Start over on a test, deletes them.
What our host records
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. They include your IP address, the page you asked for, the date and time, and your browser type. We use them to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and analytics
The site doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't load advertising scripts.
To count visits and see which pages people open, we use Clicky, a web analytics service, with its cookies turned off. When you load a page, your browser sends Clicky the page address, the page that linked you to us, your browser and device type, and your IP address. We look at the totals to decide what to fix and what to write next, and we don't use them to work out who you are.
If we add another tool, we'll describe it here before it starts and change the date at the top.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to official state websites and handbooks. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Young visitors
Many people who use practice tests are teenagers getting ready for a learner's permit. Because we collect no personal information, we don't knowingly collect any from children under 13.
Questions about your data
We hold no account data, so there is usually nothing to delete or export. If you have a question about this policy, write to [email protected].
